Windshield Bag

The windshield on the WOC fairing slants back more than others, and I had to modify the back mounting plate on the windshield bag to make it work with the WOC fairing. I took the plastic mounting plate off of the bag, and took the faux leather (man, why don't they just say vinyl) off the plastic mounting plate. I used the plastic plate as a pattern to make a taller mounting plate out of sheet steel I bought at Lowes. I made mounting plate tall enough that the bottom of bag just rests on the rubber insulating strip for windshield. Makes it a little tough to tighten middle windshield bolt, but looks a lot better this way. I then used upholstery glue to put the faux leather back on mounting plate. Because the mounting plate is taller now, the bottom part of mounting plate will not be covered with the vinyl, but does not hurt a thing and will not show. I used very small counter sunk bolts and nuts to fasten the mounting plate back on bag instead of rivets, because I wanted to make sure it did not vibrate or sag at all. I ground bolts inside of bag down flush with the nuts, then used small pieces of left over faux leather to cover nuts on inside of bag.

I bought the cheapest bag I could find on eBay to make sure it would work. As soon as I get a few other projects done, I'll buy a nicer three bag windshield bag, and make it work on my WOC fairing. I'll also try to take more photos while I'm modifying it.
